Megaman Box Cover

I really like this box cover. The art doesn't do any justice to Megaman's original design (Rockman, in Japan). As atrocious as this cover looks I still has a classic feels to it that makes me feel at home. I mean look at those palm trees on the top left of the image. Where is this Megaman located at? I'm presuming Las Vegas.

The Japanese boxart, as you can see, is very different in terms of style and execution. It's certainly much more design oriented and not so painterly. They are both quite charming by their own accord but the Japanese one certainly makes more sense to the consumer and the characters seem to transition much better from the box art to its videogame counter part.
